تتناول هذه الدراسة التوازن بين منهج ابن جني ومنهج العکبري في إعراب القراءات الشواذ، من خلال بيان القيمة العلمية لکتاب المحتسب، والقيمة العلمية لکتاب العکبري، وتظهر الدراسة ما تميز به کتاب ابن جني عن کتاب العکبري، من حيث المنهجية العلمية، والشمولية، والإسهاب والعمق، الموقف من القراءات الشواذ، فترى ابن جني يعضد القراءة الشاذة بالمتواترة، کما تبين أن ابن جني يجمع بين القراءة المتواترة والشاذة إن أمکن، أما العکبري يذکر الأوجه النحوية في توجيه القراءة من غير الالتفات إلى الجمع.

Abstract
 This research sheds light upon the balance between the approach of Ibn Jinni and that of Alokbary to parse the rare modes of recitation so as to highlight the academic value of Al-Muhtaseb; abook by Ibn Jinni and another book by Alokbary. The research is keen to display what characterizes Ibn Jinni’s book rather than that of Alokbary in terms of the scientific approach, comprehensiveness, depth and wordiness as well as the stance concerning the rare modes of recitation. Ibn Jinni reinforces the rare modes of recitation by means of the recurring modes. In addition, Ibn Jinni comprises the rare and recurring modes if possible whereas Alokbary emphasizes the syntactic aspects that influence the recitation rather than paying attention to any comprise.
