يتناول هذا البحث بيان منهج الإمام أبى عبد الله الفاسي – رحمه الله – في الدفاع عن القراءات المتوترة ، وذلک من خلال شرحه على الشاطبية المسمى بـ " اللآلئ الفريدة في شرح القصيدة"، ويتضمن کذلک التعريف بالإمام الفاسي وذکر حياته العلمية وشيوخه وتلاميذه ، ويفصّل المعالم التي اعتمد عليها الإمام الفاسي في دفاعه عن القراءات کالاستدلال بالقرآن الکريم والحديث الشريف والإجماع والقياس وذکر الآثار وکلام الأئمة واتباع النقل والأثر والاحتجاج بالشعر والنثر وتزکية القراء في النقل والرد بالجدل ’ وکذلک الاستدلال بالرسم العثماني والقراءات الشاذة وغير ذلک

IMAM AL-FĀSĪ AND HIS METHODOLOGY FOR DEFENDING THE FREQUENTLY-NARRATED RECITATIONS IN HIS COMMENTARY ON ASH-SHAṬEBEYYAH[1]

Abstract
This research paper shows the methodology of Imam ᾿Abi ‛Abdullah Al-Fāsī. Al-Fāsī defended the most common modes of recitation of the Qur᾿ān throughout his Commentary on Ash-Shaṭebeyyah, entitled Al-La᾿āli’ ul-Farīdah fī Sharḥ Al-Qaṣīdah[2] . The study introduces Imam Al-Fāsī, his academic life, his Sheikhs, and disciples. The paper mentions, in detail, all the tools used by Al-Fāsī in his defence of the modes of recitation such as citing evidence from the noble Qur᾿ān and the Prophet’s tradition, making use of analogy and consensus of opinion, and citing from previous works and scholarly predecessors. He cites evidence from poetry, prose, and readers’ opinions to support his argument. He also made use of Ottoman script, rare modes of recitation, and other things for evidence.
